Teeth-whitening is a highly effective way of brightening the natural color of stained or discolored teeth. Even at a very young age only a few people have brilliant white teeth. In time teeth tend to get discolored. Discoloration of teeth can be caused by many things:

- consumption of tea, coffee, red wine
- smoking
- medicines taken during the growth of the teeth
- old fillings
- root-treatment

There are cases when teeth are discolored or yellow because of malformation of the enamel. There is an opportunity to whiten those teeth as well.

In our dentistry you can choose from 3 different methods of whitening:

During this process we apply a carbamide-peroxide-based gel to your teeth then illuminate it with a plasma lamp for 3x10 minutes.

We use a hydrogen-peroxide-based material we apply to the teeth with ultrasonic vibration. The treatment takes 5x8 minutes.

The technician prepares a special splint with the help of the print of the teeth previously taken. The whitening gel is put into this splint which the patient applies at home. For best results we recommend a 7-10 day cycle (2-3 hours per use).

All the different whitening methods give the patient a noticeably whiter teeth potentially even up to three shades.

Note: The process will not whiten fillings, crowns, bridges, or dentures!

Suggestions after the treatment:

• do not consume food and drinks that can discolor your teeth (coffee, tea, coke, red wine, tomato) within the first 24-48 hours after your whitening treatment
• do not smoke

The whitening treatment can result in tooth sensitivity and/ or gum discomfort that should end within one or two days.
